There are only 79 thousand Rohingya in Rakhine

Rohingyas are fleeing Bangladesh every day to save lives after the operation in Myanmar's Rakhine state in August last year. They did not stop even after the repatriation agreement between the two countries. On Saturday, Myanmar's media reported that at least 90 percent of Rohingya people in three cities living in Rakhine were forced to flee the country. After August 25, when the Myanmar army raided the region, 6 lakh 88 thousand Rohingyas fled to Bangladesh and fled. Now there are only 79 thousand 38 Rohingyas in three cities of Rakhine. The data released by the government and international NGO agencies has been released by the media.

Irrawat collected official reports of the three cities of Rakhine to find out the number of Rohingya refugees. The report was prepared by Rakhine's General Administrative Department (GAD).

It is an organization under the Ministry of Home Affairs, controlled by Myanmar army. GAD Report published in October of 017 The media has reviewed the statistics obtained from GAD's report in conjunction with information from the UN Human Rights Cooperative Organization, OCAHA, Rohingya camp of Bangladesh. According to the OCHH, 6,888 thousand fleeing Rohingyas have been registered in Bangladesh from 25 August to 27 January.

According to GAD's report, more than 768 thousand Rohingyas live in Maungdaw, Boothding, and Rathdanga before the beginning of the army's persecution. A government official in Maungdaw confirmed that these figures were collected in 2016. With this information, OCHA's registration information has been reviewed and it is said that about 90 percent of Rohingyas were forced to leave the area. Only 10 percent are still there. But 90 percent of those who have died, disappeared or arrested have not been caught.

Statistics show that 10 percent of the Rohingya who did not come to Bangladesh from the affected areas, they are 79 thousand. As a result, around 7 lakh 67 thousand people were forced to flee. According to GAD's report, 6 percent of Rathidanga, 84 percent of Boothding and 93 percent of Maungdaw were Rohingya. In the report, however, they were not called 'Rohingya'. Their report was written in 'Bangladeshi'.

GAD's report clearly did not mention how many villages of Rohingya and Rakhine ethnic groups in each town. It mentions only the number of villages. According to GAD officials of Maungdaw and Boothding, 272 Rohingyas among the 364 villages of Maungdaw, which account for 74% of the total village area. Members of the security forces burned at least 70 villages in the army's abduction drive. Of the 339 villages of Boothding, 137 are Rohingyas, 51% of the city's total villages. A senior GAD official of the city said that at least 30 villages were burnt to ashes.

The majority of people of Rakhine ethnic group in Rathdanga Before the beginning of August's violence there were 22 Rohingya villages. From Rohingya, it is known that there are only two or three villages there. The rest were burnt down.

At the same time, between Bangladesh and Myanmar, the emergency management coordinator of Doctors Without Borders in Bangladesh, Kate Nolla said that there are hundreds of Rohingyas coming every week in Bangladesh. He said that even after the huge number of Rohingyas did not get drowned, the members of this community are still entering the Naf river every week. They do not feel safe at home in Rakhine. There they have to be victims of harassment.
